my husband rides me about making too much food for a party I'm gonna kick his butt. This year I actually ran out of food. We did chow down on15# of chicken and alot of other stuff, but still...I am at the same time humiliated and vindicated. My new grill rocks and I think it will be a week before I come back inside to cook. Wed. I'm making at least 10pts. of smoky chipotle maple barbecue sauce and canning it up and that'll bring me back inside. The party was a blast and thanks to all of you who joined us and made it so much fun. The hottub was recovered by morning and the breaker flipped OK, the house was in pretty good shape. My boyfriend survived the experince of meeting all my friends at once, too many of whom started conversations with "Oh, you're Jesse, I've read so much about you on Tamar's LJ" He was getting a little spooked, but dealt well, found enough people to talk motorcycles with to be comfortable.
All in all, a good party, even if Bob did die during it.

it really was a great party. I hope you take the lack of food during the tail-end as a major compliment. The mole chicken was soooooo good. I'd love for Jesse to meet the rest of DMH sometime.

Bob died?!!? is that a sign of the pack-o-lips?

Glad it went well.

The MOLE was AMAZING. You started to tell me what was in it and I should have listened. What was in it?

It's actually remarkably complicated. Historically it was invented by a group on nuns in Mexico in the late 800's to celebrate the arrival of a bishop, using native ingredients, and is served with turkey. You toast a blend of dried peppers, grind them, saute some spices, grind them with some garlic, toast some nuts and grind them and them mix em together and add some chicken stock. Cook for a while and add bitter chocolate at the end. This is a simplified description. Good thing it makes 2 qts.

In the process of the cooking or put on the chicken, is there any flour or other wheat product? I had a wheat reaction after the party and I'm trying to track down what it was. If it wasn't something at the party I'll have to think about what I had earlier in the day.
