Things they didn't tell me at CIA
May. 30th, 2005 11:48 amwhen cutting a wedding cake it is helpful to be completely sober, and not in high heels.I don't feel like I did a great job because I know how it's really supposed to be done, but better than nothing I guess.I did it quick and dirty, the proper way is much more elaborate and precise, but what can you do. Now time to go get the frosting off my high heels.I must say kids, you all looked wonderful and can really get down and get funky. Props to the guy, who I don't know, who got the group boogie to "Ice Ice Baby" going, gotta love someone who just doesn't care and lets it all hang out like that.Definitely time to call a girls night to hit a club to dance the night away.BTW, got the recipe for those Key Lime Pie martinis. Before someone pops up to get their panties in a twist...
feste_sylvain cough...let me point out that martinis weren't originally the concoction supposed purists would like to believe, as they weren't dry. Mixed drinks in the 1880s were invariably sweet and martinis were made with at least 1/2 sweet vermouth. The dry version popped up later, some think during prohibition, some think later, when sweet liquors were harder to find. I know some folks hate the new martinis, but it has become accepted to name any drink in a martini glass with little or no drink mixers(non alcholholic liquids like soda or sour mix) a martini.
