Sadness

I used to live near Kenmore sq,partied there thruout my teens and 20's,and always chatted with Mr.Butch.He would make sure I was OK to get home when he saw me come out of the clubs, pointing out I should be careful walking home.He used a scooter eventualy, but I still remember him playing his guitar while on rollerskates. He passed away today and the city gets that much drabber.I was unaware BU had booted him from Kenmore Sq,bastards.

Bastards, indeed.

I'm trying desperately to remember the name of the air/cardboard guitar band he had for a little while with a few other Kenmore regulars. Butch'd be off in the background, grooving out to his own thing.

I saw him last year; he came into my branch a few days running wearing (of all things) a three-piece suit. I swear I posted about it; I'll go looking.

Oh, this makes me sad. The world's a slightly dimmer place. Baruch dayan emet.

This article http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2007/07/18/parade_planned_for_mr_butch/ indicates there will be a service, including a New Orleans style funeral parade, for him.
