and we have a winter weather warning and wunderground says my area should get 3-5 inches of snow and ice pellets.

It *always* snows until late in the spring. Period. There's always 3-6 inches in April once, usually twice.
I'm not sure why anyone is surprised. Happens every April and people are surprised every April.
