There's this farm down the road that raises heritage cattle(banded galways ir you care) that produce amazing beef. I've bought from them before and got mail from them this week. They're selling some beef first week of february and first week of march. They just have ground and it's 3.45/#. One problem, minimum order is 40# and I don't need that much ground beef. I might go for it anyway, but if you are interested in getting 10# of it with me please let me know. Free range,no hormones, antibiotic or stuff like that, not certified organic because they are only CSA and don't want the hassle.

if banded galways are the cows i'm thinking of, i've always thought they resemble giant radioactive hamsters from some 1950's atomic animal movie.

i'd go in for 10#, and that's enough time to clear out room in my freezer.

Those are them, I always think they look like enormous Woolly Bear Caterpillars (http://www.richard-seaman.com/Wallpaper/Nature/Caterpillars/WoolyBear.jpg)
I'll get back to you about the beef

Thanks, from all of us!!!

Did you mean Belted Galloway (http://www.beltie.org/)
Those are beautiful cattle...I love to see them.

Good job supporting a local small farmer.
Thanks!

Any idea what the fat percentage is? Regardless, we'd definitely go in for ten pounds.

It's very lean(when we got a half of a half from them originally, the meat was a little too lean for certain uses) and very tasty

We'll take 10#, that's a great price for that quality. Paypal? Other method of paying you beforehand?

I'd love to! Ten pounds for us, or less if you're splitting shares.
