When dropping a 5 gallon pot of tomato sauce it takes a certain calmness to thnk to yourself "That looks like about 1 gallon of sauce OVER EVERY SURFACE OF MY KITCHEN FLOOR,CABINETS AND COUNTERS at least it wasn't the whole 5 gallons".
Oooh, suck. On the up side, when this happened to a friend of mine, he said by the time he was finished cleaning his kitchen, it looked cleaner than ever before, because of the acid in the tomatoes. glad you didn't lose the whole thing!
SUCK! (tho you know, I'm buying a canning set next paycheck and am planning on canning my friends tomatoes as well as some homemade salsas and soups. :) thanks for inspiring me!)
Believe it or not, the sound of a five-gallon pot of tomatoes hitting the floor creates sufficient noise to have me come running (or at least call out, "Are you okay?").
Then she started laughing. That was a disturbing sound too.
We lost a few photos that had been on the fridge door, but that was about the extent of the collateral damage.
