Alyssa got sent home from camp today with a 102d fever, sore throat, head ache, and fatigue(sleeping like the dead)

Now, she has my love, sympathy and tender loving care, but I need to warn everyone. Alyssa has been home from school once in 12 years, that was this past spring. She showed up at the nurse's, so did a few others, and by the end of the week 1/2 the school was hit. If it manages to take down her it means alot of other folks are gonna get it. Keep an eye out.

Sounds about right. H1N1 would most likely have a lower fever.

and I wouldn't treat her any different and don;t want to add to the hysteria. She had the flu or something close this past spring

not adding to hysteria is one thing, but statistical tracking could be useful -- if the test is covered, is it bad to give the CDC an accurate data point?

also, H1N1 is still responding to Tamiflu. Friend in Michigan got it, got Tamiflu, & fever was gone in 2 days. Might be worth it if you've got the coverage.

other than that, yeah, treatment's the same for flu or just about anything else causing that symptom cluster. Charlotte & I had flu this winter and it sucked, but there wasn't much to do except soup and tea with brandy.
