So was Camp Concordia.

It's a bit of a sex vs violence tossup as to which was better run. At Lutherhaven, fights were common. Somewhere in my parent's house is a roll of film showing a pre-teen Halleyscomet covered in bruises. My parents were considering a lawsuit at the time.

Camp Concordia was under different management every year, due to annual teen pregnancies. Every year a few campers would get knocked up. The people actually running the camp would be fired by the owner, and a fresh crop of moral, upright and completely inexperienced counselors would be brought in to rectify the situation.

So, if you didn't mind your kids getting in fights all the time and breaking a nose or two, Lutherhaven was your best bet. If you preferred your kid be safe from violence but run the risk of becoming a teenage parent, Concordia was the place to go.
