I love it when the peppers for my salsa are so hot I get mild chemical burns on my hands from dealing with them. Yes, I know I should have worn gloves.

12 qts tomato sauce (would have been at least 15, grumble grumble)

Thinking about getting another case of toms to make more sauce as it's really useful thruout the year. I should get 1 case more of salsa from what I have left.

When dropping a 5 gallon pot of tomato sauce it takes a certain calmness to thnk to yourself "That looks like about 1 gallon of sauce OVER EVERY SURFACE OF MY KITCHEN FLOOR,CABINETS AND COUNTERS at least it wasn't the whole 5 gallons".

When dropping a 5 gallon pot of tomato sauce it takes a certain calmness to thnk to yourself "That looks like about 1 gallon of sauce OVER EVERY SURFACE OF MY KITCHEN FLOOR,CABINETS AND COUNTERS at least it wasn't the whole 5 gallons".

Last year it seemed that wherever I went there was great produce begging to be made into something. This year, not so much. I dunno if it's because I'm busier, or the weather is crappy this summer and what produce there is is expensive, I just haven't come close to last years extravaganza. I need to start making salsa and hunting down tomoatoes.
